Mexico 21

Covereing some of what was missing from 2019: Tequila and Yucatan peninsula - with lots of temples, cenotes, some wildlife, beach, and the chilled Mérida and lively Valladolid.

La Palma

Two weeks clockwise around Puglia, with some beach days, all those cute little towns, impressive Lecce and Taranto, lively Trani, and a lot of good food.

Mexico 19

Colourful and diverse Mexico from Baja California Sur via Canyon del Cobre, Mexico City, Puebla, Oaxaca to Chiapas and Palanque.


Three weeks spent mostly hiking in the mountains of Tusheti, Khevsureti (Omala to Shatili) and Svaneti regions (Mazeri, Mestia to Ushguli), adding a few days in Tbilisi and Kutaisi


One week in Tenerife's north in May 2019 with some hiking, some swimming, and good Tapas. Plants, rocks, and architecture, mostly in Santa Cruz, are content in photos.


Two-day trip to Malaysia led us to the Perhentian islands for some exploring, diving, and relaxing, and for a couple hours to Kota Bharu for the flight out.

Morocco: South

Morocco is the mother ship of road trips, a horn of plenty melting culture, life, and nature. Southern route goes from Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou, Fint oasis, Merzouga desert, Goulmima, and the beautiful Atlas mountains around Imilchil.

Colombia 18

Travelling Colombia's heartland Boyacá on the road from Santa Marta to Bogotá, visiting Mompos, Playa de Belén, Barichara, Villa de Lleyva, and Monguí.


Couple weeks in Singapore, mainly for meeting friends & family, and for the good food. Couple trips with photo only, to the zoo, and to the bird park. And a walk through china town.


Thessaloniki for a long weekend only. Starting in the charming pre-seaon tourist beach town Sarti, Halkidiki, enjoying some city life with good food, and wandering a national park on the coast outside the city.


Long May weekend in Odessa and around - city life and Dniester National park, yet empty beaches waiting for summer, opera, food and lovely people.


Running around Riga, hiking foresty national park near Segulda, strolling the beach in Jurmala, and meandering around Kanieris lake at brink of spring.

Colombia 17

Traveling from Quito into Colombia, spending two weeks in various places, travelling the vast country by bus, plane and car, rounding it up at the coast around Cartagena.


Not much time in Cambodia, visiting only Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap lake, then via Kampong Thom to bustling Phnom Penh.

Lanzarote & Fuerteventura

Only a few days in the end of October searching for the lost summer on the canary islands. Starting in Fuerteventura and moving over to Lanzarote for some great volcano hiking.


Travelling for a week around Romania in September 2017. Very friendly people, cool cities like Cluj, Brasov and especially Bucharest, and beautiful nature.


Three weeks in Cuba, enjoying the easy living on tourist resources. Beautiful beaches are not frequented by the locals, except for fishermen.


The land of Jingis Aitmatovs love novel "Jamila" was always a dream of mine. Now that I've been there I can't say my dreams were more colorful than reality.

Perú & Bolivia

Visiting colonial Arequipa, deep Colca Canyon, former Inca capital Cusco, magic Macchupicchu, the jungle near Puerto Maldonado, floating islands in Lago Titicaca, majestic Nuestra Senora de La Paz, and the Salar de Uyuni with surroundings.


Guatemala, the land of the forest. the land of colourful Maya culture and 23 different indigenous languages besides Spanish.


East-Java with its vulcanoes has otherwise a quiet, beautiful countryside. Yogya is a nice hang-out for culture, street-music, historic sites. Bali has impressive rice terrace landscapes, the coastline in the north and lively villages.


Exploring Ghana in April 2013 with a backpack, taking buses and a plane across the country, staying at hostels and a private home. The route was Accra - Kumasi - Tamale - Wli - Cape Coast - Elmina - Accra.

Thai Village

Thai village life is liveley, colourful. A good experience apart from beaches and temples.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) with its mix of colonial architecture and asian housing is bustling with life and motorbikes. In the nearby Mekong delta with its floating markets people still live on their boats, and noodles are still made by hand.


The Mekong river in many different settings, growing from big to huge on its way from Laos to Cambodia. Passing Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng (new 2013), Vientiane and Phnom Penh on the way, with many markets, temples, animals and all those nice people.

St. Petersburg

Winter transforming to spring around Easter time in 2010. The city, its sourroundings and subway, Hermitage and Neva river.


If you prefer free range to caged chicken, you're good in Thailand cause they're everywhere. Free are only the females though, while the males like to fight.

Thai Countryside

It's not really what Thailand is known for, but with its people, its villages and farms there's a lot to discover in the countryside, not least the atmosphere.


Louisiana, Kazakhstan, Italy, Singapore, Paris, Düsseldorf, Berlin (2006-12).


Called 'Bang Fei' the rockets are a past-time to farmers in Thailand. With eating, drinking, and betting on flight duration, it's fun for the whole family.
