The land of Jingis Aitmatovs love novel "Jamila" was always a dream of mine. Now that I've been there I can't say my dreams were more colorful than reality. Beautiful landscapes, mountains full of horses, cows and sheep. There are not many Kyrgyz people, but they are cheerful, and where they are, you are welcome and never lost. Lake Issyk-Kul in summer is as good as the mediterranean sea, so lots of Kazakhs and Kyrgyz come here for summer vacation. The mountains up to 7000 m are perfect for long hikes.
